Your donation will allow us to continue providing services to over 800 children and adults in McLean County

Issued 3/20/2020:

Dear Parents and Guardians:

On March 16, 2020, Marcfirst Pediatric Therapy received notification from Department of Human Services that Early Intervention (Birth-3 services in Illinois) would temporarily suspend face-to-face services for all children enrolled in this program. By this time, you have probably received a phone call from a therapist or service coordinator on your child’s therapy team to inform you of this change.

Therapists wish to stay connected and support you during these uncertain times. Therefore, Marcfirst therapists will be setting up times for phone calls to provide consultation and support related to your child’s goals in Early Intervention. We have not done this before, because this is not how early intervention is typically provided so we will all be learning together. Please share with your therapy team what is working well or not well for you as we transition to these phone support services.

As of now, no Early Intervention face-to-face services will be provided until at least April 15, 2020. If other changes occur we will communicate those changes with you.

For families that have children who come to the clinic for therapy outside of Early Intervention, we have also closed the clinic through April 15, 2020. Therefore, no therapy services will be occurring in our building until at least after April 15, 2020.

Please know that we are here to support you. Visit the Marcfirst website (www.marcfirst.org) and Facebook page (@MarcfirstMcLeanCounty) for updates and information. Also, like the Marcfirst Facebook page so your kids can see updates and fun play activities presented by the Marcfirst Therapists. There will be a daily post at 9am.

We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 in our service areas and send updates as needed.

Brian Wipperman, CEO Marcfirst
